Ring-tailed lemur in the indoor enclosure.

Dwarf donkeys welcome a new arrival

Animal news | 16 September 2024

Esel-Nachwuchs Grace mit Mutter

Our dwarf donkeys regularly take a turn around the zoo. This time our two foals, Gizmo and Grace, also came along for the ride – their first outing. Gizmo is four weeks older than Grace, and so he is slightly bigger; he has a dark coat, like his father Pedro. By contrast, 11-day-old Grace clearly takes after her mum Judi. The walks are a great way of giving the donkeys some variety and providing a point of interest for the other zoo animals as they pass their enclosures. And of course, our visitors are also happy to see the little herd and be allowed to stroke the animals.
