Tamandua Kiwi mit Jungtier

Kiwi the tamandua gave birth to another pup at the end of July – a male, born on 29 July. The team at Prof Brandes House is currently deciding on a good name for him.

The pup is developing well and currently weighs 1.26 kg. After the birth, mum and baby were housed in the rear enclosure, away from dad Ignacio. Kiwi and her youngster can currently be seen in the enclosure with the white-faced sakis at Prof Brandes House. The pair will be reunited with dad Ignacio in a few weeks’ time, when the pup is about three months old.
