FAQs

This section provides answers to FAQs, from your tickets to tips when visiting the Zoo.

Admission prices

Admission to the Zoo is free for children between the ages of 3 and 16 on their birthdays. There is no need to give prior notice. Simply show an ID card or any other form of certification bearing the child’s date of birth to our ticket office staff and we will treat you to a very special birthday in our Zoo.
Lockers are available in the foyer for small items of baggage (e.g. tote bags, handbags). You can hire a key at our information desk for 1.00 euro (plus a 10 euro deposit). The lockers are 22 centimetres wide, 50 centimetres high and 48 centimetres deep. Unfortunately it is not possible to reserve baggage storage in advance.
Dogs are not permitted inside the Zoo. No accommodation is provided for them. The smell of dogs can cause many zoo animals distress, as dogs are one of their predators. Some visitors, especially children, are also wary of dogs. Assistance dogs belonging to visitors who are physically or mentally disabled are excluded from this rule.
Children aged 12 and over are allowed to visit the Zoo unaccompanied. Children below the age of 12 are only allowed to visit the Zoo when accompanied by an adult.
Online tickets are issued by the ticket provider zoo2go. When purchasing online tickets, you will be taken to the website of zoo2go, and thus agree to the terms and conditions of the privacy policy that applies on this site. When you purchase an online ticket, you first of all select the type of ticket you want, then specify how many you want. Once you have clicked on “Tickets kaufen” /“Buy tickets”, you can select the date of your visit and the payment method. Once you have ordered and paid for the tickets, you will receive a confirmation email from zoo2go with your online tickets. You can either print the tickets or display them on your smartphone at our ticket office for validation.
All admission tickets and annual passes as well as zoo tours can also be purchased as a voucher or given as a gift. Simply use our contact form to send your request. We will be more than happy to send you the voucher with an invoice plus postage.
There is no general discount for those who are unemployed or receiving basic income scheme. Holders of a Dresden Pass or a Saxon municipal pass for low-income earners (not a Saxon Family Pass) pay a reduced admission price upon presentation of the pass. There is a reduced admission price for all visitors to the Zoo on Mondays.
If you have any queries or comments, please contact support@zoo2go.com. If you have not received a booking confirmation, you will usually find it in the spam folder of your email account. If you are experiencing issues with an existing booking, please always refer the team at zoo2go to the relevant email (booking confirmation).
Online tickets are only valid for the day booked. If you have selected the wrong date by mistake or it is not possible to visit the zoo on the day you have selected, you can change your booking to a different day by 12 p.m. the previous day. Cancellation is not possible.
The online ticket shop only sells day tickets. Annual tickets and discounted tickets cannot be purchased online; they are only available from the Zoo ticket office.
